GENERAL ASSEMBLY MINUTES

PROPOSALS:

Eric’s proposal to create an email address through the website for press releases with a minimum of two admins that have access to the password passed

Sam’s proposal to merge the Media WG and the Literature WG passed

Sam’s proposal to work with Community Action Organization of Erie County(COA) for a rally re: “Investing in the Inner City” at 1423 Fillmore Avenue passed

-Meeting with COA to discuss rally is on January 11, 2012

-Date and time of rally pending

John’s proposal to have a candlelight vigil on Sunday, January 15, 2012 to commemorate Martin Luther King, Jr. passed

Bob’s proposal to reelect all the signers of the OB account was passed

-Have nomination list board to write names

-Saturday, January 14, 2012 at GA we have the elections

Sam’s proposal to ask Mocha and Emanuel to no longer camp here but is welcome to come and participate passed

-Both put on probation for a week at last Monday’s GA to give them the chance to actually get involved

-She is currently using three donated tents

-She has been point person for the Arts & Culture WG since Chelsey left but Mocha has done nothing to do to date that anyone is aware of and did not have signs ready for the Potluck Dinner & Candlelight Vigil even though given a week’s notice and had all the supplies needed

-She has brought Lulu and Billy back to camp multiple times and defends them when they are asked to leave

-A proposal was passed at a GA to have no animals because Mocha has a kitten she is neglecting. Mocha was informed to remove it but the following day when it was discovered the cat was still here

Misty’s proposal to have patches created to identify occupier roles and skills within the movement to be put on clothing *Not voted on yet. Budget pending*

ANNOUNCEMENTS:

February 1, 2012 OB legal team and the City’s legal team will meet to decide to renew our contract

-Need to meet fire code

-Bob , Sam, John, Brian, Zaney and Mindy went to the Fire Marshall’s office to speak to them but he was

unavailable so they left some paperwork

Winter Festival in five weeks

-Move porta potties and consolidate the tents into the two quadrants opposite of the Statler Building
